Video Game Summit 2012

This past Saturday a retro video show was held in Lombard, IL called the Video Game Summit. My son and I got the chance to go down a check it out. We had a great time playing and seeing some really cool things. I got to play the Neo Geo AES for the first time ever and it was awesome. The graphics and game play were absolutely cool, living up to arcade quality. Also, I knew the carts for that system were big, but I guess you don't really have a clue until you are actually holding one in your own hands. I can see why they are still relatively expensive. Hopefully I have a chance one day to pick up an AES for a decent price. After playing one I would like to add the console to my game room. We also got to play a couple of TurboGrafx games which were a lot of fun. Also my son played some tennis on the Virtual Boy.
The Video Game Summit while not being a very large show still had quite a few vendors selling a ton of games. I picked up a couple of things myself. All the vendors I spoke to were very friendly and willing to wheel and deal on their stuff, which is nice when you are trying to find a good deal.

All in all, I thought it was a good time and will for sure go back next year.
