Gremlins Sketch

Stripe from Gremlins
I know it's not video gaming related but it is retro. After listening to a podcast talk about Gremlins I have been on a Gremlins kick. So I decided to breakout the old sketch book. Gremlins used to scare the shit out of my when I was young. I spent many nights worried about them hiding in my house waiting to get me.

Unloading At The Gurnee Comics And Collectibles Show

My table
Over the last year I have amassed a mighty collection of retro games and along with all that stuff there was bound to be duplicates. So today I gathered them all into a big box and set out for the Gurnee Comics and Collectibles Show. I brought a bunch of Sega Genesis games and a few consoles. I also had a crap load of sports games I was trying to unload and believe it or not I was able to sell a few. Granted I marked them all 3 for a dollar.

Nintoaster

One thing I also had out today was my Nintoaster. I built it a couple of months back after seeing one in an Angry Video Game Nerd episode. It turned out to be an awesome project and the Nintoaster has provided me with many hours of old school Nintendo fun. I would be lying if I said it wasn't a little hard selling it but I guess now I have a reason to build an even better one.

I met a lot of nice people today and got a lead on a new store that sells retro games. I even met a dude who said he competed in the Nintendo World Championships when it came through the area back in the day.

Comic pick ups
Not sure but I think I might try to selling at another show someday. I had a good experience today so I guess we'll see.

Let's Play TMNT 4

Boy I never though there would be so much of a learning curve to making game play videos, but I think I finally got it down. The last couple of weeks I have been screwing around with my recording setup. I was having bad audio issues and dropped video frames. It took a lot patience and at times a little swearing, but I figured out the problems. Even after having all the correct settings and doing the actually recording I still had to figure out the right way to upload it from my Twitch TV channel to YouTube. Fortunately for me that was the easiest part.

Last night me and my 5yr old son played through Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4. The furthest we have made it before was the pirate ship. So I used my Game Genie for infinite lives in order for us to make it all the way to the end of the game. My son loves the Turtles and we had a lot of fun playing together. Beat 'em ups like Turtles 4 are the perfect game for us to play. Especially when you don't have to worry about dying. The game controls are simple, with only two button for him to mash and most importantly lots of action so he doesn't get bored.

Next time I'll try to add commentary to my videos but I'm still working out some issues with my mic setup. I might  try to do another Let's Play tonight. Maybe something on Sega Genesis. Well anyways check out our TMNT 4.
